Middle School Program

Grade 5 - 8 

Wicomico Day School’s Middle School program reflects the school’s dedication to meet and nurture the unique developmental needs of young adolescents. Students experience a program that supports their academic, social, behavioral, physical, and emotional development. Teachers share their knowledge and excitement for their subject areas in meaningful ways that build on the students’ natural curiosity and enable interactive, participatory learning. Students in Middle School build on the foundation established in the Elementary Program through hands-on exploration, integrated studies, and problem-solving opportunities. They are also encouraged to take greater individual responsibility, highlighting their role as models and mentors to younger students and preparing them for the transition to high school. All faculty in the middle school meet the requirements of the Maryland State Department of Education.
